Are you feeling stuck in the same old routine of life?
Ready for a midlife reinvention but have no idea where to start?
Look no further, as this week’s podcast guest, Ross Hewitt shares his inspiring story of how he made the leap from being a MD to trying his hand at film-making. Ross is an associate member of the American Dramatists Guild and has produced numerous one-act plays, including Quicksand, Mother Knows Best, The Middle, Crossover and Witches Brew, as well as a full length play – When October Goes – which received an ArtVoice Artie Award nomination for Best New Play.
His full-length family drama Echoes in the Garden was produced by the American Bard Theater Company Off-Off Broadway in 2021, of which he is a founding member and with whom he has appeared on stage in many past productions.
Kris The Cat – the project we talk about in our conversation – is Ross’s first foray into screenwriting and movie production, and has been submitted to a number of international film festivals for children’s films. It was during the creation of this animated film that Ross really stepped out into the unknown, having to learn about film-making – from concept through to marketing of the completed project – proving that you are never too old to learn new skills and chase new dreams.
