“If you are not where you want to be, do not quit, instead reinvent yourself and change your habits.” —Eric Thomas
Have you ever thought “I want a do-over!” in regards to the life that you are living at present, and wondered just how to reinvent your life?
Or have you hit that big crossroads at midlife and found yourself suddenly aware of the years flying by along with the feeling that you have barely scratched the surface of all the things you had wanted to do?
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll already know my personal philosophy: It’s never too late to have a new beginning in life and I truly believe this with all of my heart. You want to write a book? Learn to paint? Work for a non-profit? Change careers? There’s nothing holding you back from simply beginning. HOWEVER, before you throw everything away in your life to date in order to reinvent yourself, there are a couple of key steps that I always walk clients through – and one of them is to discover your core values.
Why? Because very often, the unrest and dissatisfaction I see in someone’s life is due to them not being aligned with their inner values. Understanding your primary core values means that you have a filter to run every opportunity through – and when you don’t have time on your side due to being in your 40, 50s or 60s and beyond – this knowledge is invaluable for helping you make decisions about what you want to reinvent.
I have 2 other key steps to get you started on answering the big question of how to reinvent your life and you can tune in to them with this bite-sized video:
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Which of the 3 tips do you resonate with the most, and what are your primary core values?
