I love this time of the year.
The house is decorated, the gifts have been unwrapped, the fridge is full of leftovers, (i.e: NO COOKING for the next week – yippee!!) and there are a few days of downtime before the New Year kicks in.
These few days have to be some of my most favourite days of the year. As I write from my semi-reclined state of over-indulged bliss with my fav stretch pants on, I have time to pause and reflect on the year that has been, and to get excited about the year that is to come.
2015 has definitely been a fantastic year for Bronte and myself in that we have shared some wonderful moments with our clients.
For Bronte, not only have her regular aerobic gymnastic athletes done well at their competitions throughout the year, but she had some fabulous fitness athletes perform well in their competitions too. Her numbers of athletes wanting choreography and coaching in both of these fields increased and she loved seeing her girls perform so well and medalling at national competitions.
The highlight for her personally though, (other than graduating this year with 2 degrees!) would have to be her own bronze medal that she brought home from the inaugural Arnold Classic in March and her two stints as the official New Zealand coach for the NZ aerobic gymnastic team at competitions in the US and in Australia.
If you are wanting Fitness or Bodybuilding routines or Aerobic Gymnastic routines or coaching, NOW is the time to get in touch with her. She is currently working on approximately 20 routines so book her quickly if you want to be ahead of the competition for 2016!
Meanwhile, in the gym I have had an amazing year filled with lots of hard work and laughter. My face to face clients increased leaving me very few spaces left in which to book new people and as a result our group training sessions really took off, with the added advantage of providing even more cost-effective training and the bonus of creating some really strong friendships.
A number of lovely new folks of all ages joined the Coluccio Fitness family, with one particularly inspiring young lady – Laura – managing to lose 35 kg between March and December. Many other folks lost weight, but perhaps more importantly, many grew stronger, fitter and established exercise as a daily, regular part of every-day life, instead of just something they do when they “feel like it.”
Some highlights for me? Training injury-free this year alongside my faithful 4.50am regulars who rarely miss a session – even in the dead of winter! My 50th Birthday! Being sent to run laps around the gym wearing a tutu and trained by my girls who were all dressed up and had decorated the gym in my honour – what a fabulous day!! High-fiving folks as they achieved personal bests on the weights, or completed a harder than ever session. Witnessing women bare their souls and share from the heart in our mind-set group that we ran through November.
So many moments of seeing folks grow in strength and in confidence and I know that 2016 is going to be even better, with new goals to be set and achieved, new challenges to be met, new friendships to be made and new programs coming up for you to be part of!
Thank you everyone who has been part of Coluccio Fitness this year. Bronte and I are blessed to be able to work alongside so many wonderful people and we pray that you enjoy this holiday season before we launch into all the excitement of 2016 together!
